The Jellis Craig Foundation
Awareness. Support. Impact
A dedication to active community service has been central to the culture here at Jellis Craig since our inception. This commitment to giving back to the community was formalised through the establishment of the Jellis Craig Foundation in 2013. Since then, the Foundation’s reach has been felt far and wide, having made a significant impact on communities both locally and internationally. In the eight years since its inception, the Foundation has raised over $1.6 million and worked with four key partners (Headspace, Very Special Kids, Hands Across the Water, Breast Cancer Network Australia) and several other beneficiaries.
Achieving this has been a collective effort by all our staff, our leaders across the network and our board. Together, we have proven that through hard work, local office efforts, a generous income model from our property sales, and getting behind important charities and projects, we can make a huge impact.
As with everything we do at Jellis Craig, we’re looking forward to what is next for the Foundation.
We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Headspace. Our donations allow Headspace to continue to run critical programs for young people experiencing mental ill health. Over the next 12 months, the partnership will also fund education projects for young people, as well as a mentor program that will see our employees matched to youths suffering with mental ill health.
Introduced in 2019, the Community Contribution Fund allows each of our offices to apply for a grant from the Foundation to fund a local community project that will make a positive impact in their area.
In a Foundation first, we are delighted to be supporting The Big Umbrella this year. The Big Umbrella is a charity that provides meals for vulnerable Australians experiencing homelessness, and as such it is very close to our hearts.
Each office will have the opportunity to volunteer with The Big Umbrella by creating and distributing meals.
A particularly exciting development for the Foundation is our new partnership with The Resilience Project, which provides evidence-based practical wellbeing strategies to build resilience through its emotionally engaging programs. Through our partnership with The Resilience Project, Jellis Craig will fund mental health and resilience education programs in up to six primary and secondary schools within our office network areas each year.
The achievements of the Foundation thus far encourage us to reflect and celebrate what we have achieved already, and to look forward to what we can continue to achieve together.
